Baked Cheddar Toast

Makes 6 serving

Ingredients:

1 cup Heavy Or Whipping Cream
1 cup Cheddar Cheese Shredded
1/2 tsp Nutmeg 1/4 ts White Pepper
4 Eggs Well Beaten
12 Bread Slices White

Method:


  1. In the top of a double boiler, combine the cream, cheddar, white pepper,and nutmeg. Stir over hot water until the cheese melts and the mixture is well blended.
  2. Remove from the heat and cool to lukewarm. 
  3. Generously butter a large baking sheet and set aside. 
  4. Cut the bread slices diagonally and dip each triangle into the cheddar mixture. 
  5. Place 1/2-inch apart on the baking sheet and bake until browned and bubbly, about 15 minutes. 
  6. Serve hot

Butter Beans

Yield: 4 Servings

Ingredients:

6 Slices Bacon, Chopped
1/2 Bottle Chili Sauce
1 Green Pepper, Chopped
32 Ounces Butter Beans
1 Medium Onion, Chopped
32 Ounces Campbell BBQ Beans
1/2 Cup Brown Sugar
16 Ounces Joan Arc Kidney Beans

Method:

1.Saute the bacon, pepper, onions and brown sugar.
2.Place in a baking dish.
3.Add the beans and stir gently.
4.Bake in a 325 degree oven for one hour.

Best Spinach Dip Ever

Original recipe makes 1 bread bowl dip


Ingredients:

 1 cup mayonnaise
 1 (16 ounce) container sour cream
 1 (1.8 ounce) package dry leek soup mix
 1 (4 ounce) can water chestnuts, drained and chopped
 1/2 (10 ounce) package frozen chopped spinach, thawed and drained
 1 (1 pound) loaf round sourdough bread



Directions:


  1. In a medium bowl, mix together mayonnaise, sour cream, dry leek soup mix, water chestnuts and chopped spinach. Chill in the refrigerator 6 hours, or overnight.
  2. Remove top and interior of sourdough bread. Fill with mayonnaise mixture. Tear removed bread chunks into pieces for dipping.



Easy French Dip Sandwiches

Original recipe makes 4 servings

Ingredients:

 1 (10.5 ounce) can beef consomme
 1 cup water
 1 pound thinly sliced deli roast beef
 8 slices provolone cheese
 4 hoagie rolls, split lengthwise

Directions:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Open the hoagie rolls and lay out on a baking sheet.
Heat beef consomme and water in a medium saucepan over medium-high heat to make a rich beef broth. Place the roast beef in the broth and warm for 3 minutes. Arrange the meat on the hoagie rolls and top each roll with 2 slices of provolone.
Bake the sandwiches in the preheated oven for 5 minutes, or until the cheese just begins to melt. Serve the sandwiches with small bowls of the warm broth for dipping.

Fluffy Pancakes

Original recipe makes 8 pancakes

Ingredients:

 3/4 cup milk
 2 tablespoons white vinegar
 1 cup all-purpose flour
 2 tablespoons white sugar
 1 teaspoon baking powder
 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
 1/2 teaspoon salt
 1 egg
 2 tablespoons butter, melted
 cooking spray

Directions:

  1. Combine milk with vinegar in a medium bowl and set aside for 5 minutes to "sour".
  2. Combine flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a large mixing bowl. Whisk egg and butter into "soured" milk. Pour the flour mixture into the wet ingredients and whisk until lumps are gone.
  3. Heat a large skillet over medium heat, and coat with cooking spray. Pour 1/4 cupfuls of batter onto the skillet, and cook until bubbles appear on the surface. Flip with a spatula, and cook until browned on the other side.
